Letters of Recommendation

Students often asked me to write letters of recommendation -
perhaps for employment - perhaps for additional study.
I am usually happy to comply.
It depends upon below.

Therefore, please note that the following is required before I
consider  writing one on your behalf.

1. You must have
completed at least two academic courses  with me.
2. Your grades in the two courses must be excellent.
3. You must send me a letter identifying which courses you
completed with me, when, and what grades you earned. The letter
should also include other interaction that you and I may have had
(research, etc.)
4. You must send me a copy of your current resume.
5. You must send me a copy of your most current academic
transcript at Maritime College (you can purchase from School - pls
check catalog for instructions).
6. You must identify the purpose of the letter, who it is being sent to,
what their address is, when is it due, etc.
7. You must provide me with an envelope fully addressed to the
recipients of the letter(s) of recommendation. The envelope must
also be postage prepaid.( I am not cheap. However, I usually do not
have stamps with me and do not want to carry your letter around
pending my almost never / very infrequent visits to the post office).
8. You must tell me what your email address is and your phone
number so I can contact you if I need more / or to advise.
9. You must send all the above to me -in one package -to the
following address
SUNY Maritime College -
Department Global Business and Transport,
Fort Schuyler, Bronx, New York USA 10465.
10. Please then send me an email (sealaw@msn.com) once you
send the above to me by post - and in the email advise me that I
should be expecting your package of documents.

Rgds,

J Weiss
